Software Development Process Assessment With MMIS v.2, an ISO/IEC 33000-Based Model

Our colleagues Mario Piattini, Moisés Rodríguez and Javier Verdugo, together with the professor of Universidad del Cauca, Francisco Pino and AENOR ICT Manager Boris Delgado, have published the article: Software Development Process Assessment With MMIS v.2, an ISO/IEC 33000-Based Model in the issue No. 6, Vol. 23, December 2021 of the IEEE IT Professional magazine.

Today, companies that want to digitally transform their products and services are changing the shape and scope of their quality assurance processes. Based on the ISO/IEC 33000 and ISO/IEC 12207 standards, we have built a new maturity model called MMIS V2.0, which has been applied over the last few years in more than 20 companies.

In the article we present the experience of these companies in implementing and certifying MMIS 2.0, assessing its usefulness and obtaining feedback for improvement. In addition, during this study, we have identified the processes that are most difficult for companies to implement, as well as the main software tools and frameworks used to support the development lifecycle.
