Maturity model based on CMMI for governance and management of Green IT

AQCLab has collaborated with the Alarcos Research Group (J. David Patón-Romero and Mario Piattini) of the University of Castilla-La Mancha and with the University of Bari (Maria Teresa Baldassarre) in the development of the work "Maturity model based on CMMI for governance and management of Green IT", published in the journal IET Software.

Due to the growing importance of sustainability for organisations around the world, in recent times different sustainable practices in the area of information technology have arisen in isolation, known as Green IT practices. This work presents a maturity model based on CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration), which establishes a framework that organises and establishes practices for implementing, assessing, and improving the Green IT in organisations in an efficient, gradual, and integrated way. This proposal has been validated by experts and through practical cases in order to demonstrate its usefulness when implementing, assessing, and improving the Green IT in organisations.

This study is intended to help organisations to gradually implement and improve through different levels of maturity, the governance and management of Green IT.
