On 15 May, our director Moisés Rodríguez, together with María José Escalona, Professor at the University of Seville, moderated the round table The university-industry relationship: a debate that remains necessary, as part of the CIBSE 2025 conference.

This session brought together professionals from both private companies and public administration, such as:

• Antonio Vera Serrano (Head of NTT DATA Ciudad Real & Industry Manager)
• Arturo Peralta (Managing Director and CTO of Prometeus Global Solutions)
• Juan Ángel Morejudo (Managing Director for the Digital Transformation Agency, JCCM)
• Manuel Escobar Montes (Deputy Director of Digital Services, Junta de Andalucía)

During the session several key topics were addressed, including:

• Advantages of the University-Industry Partnership.
• Main Challenges of the Relationship and Possible Alternatives or Solutions.
• The Role of the Artificial Intelligence Revolution in Research and Knowledge Transfer between University and Industry.
• Positive and Negative Aspects of Using Artificial Intelligence in Research.
• Success Stories as Inspirational Examples for Future Collaborations.

The session was a great success and allowed to highlight the difficulties in the University-Company/Administration collaboration, as well as proposals from different points of view to improve these collaborations.
